Yoji Fujimoto Shihan passed away on 20 February 2012

Dear friends – it is with the deepest regret and sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of our beloved teacher, mentor and father Yoji Fujimoto Sensei. We will miss him deeply. He lives on in our hearts, our minds and our spirit on the tatami’s of the world. In the words of my friend Emilio Cardia – “now he is everywhere”.

South Africa thanks you deeply sensei for your selfless contribution to South African aikido – we salute you. On a more personal level I wish to say “thank sensei for your friendship, your dedication to make me see the light and the way you touched and changed my life”.

Now more than ever your legacy will continue through us, your loving students in the best possible way we can.

PS. A tribute to arguably the biggest Aikido Shihan that ever walked the earth. I am honoured to be your student sensei. We will always remember.
